We keep a pure bred flock of Lleyn sheep, a breed known for having the very best eating quality.
New season organic lamb is available from early May. This meat is pale in colour, particularly tender with a mild flavour. Richer flavours develop as the seasons progress as the grasses upon which they graze primarily influence the lamb’s flavour. Our lambs thrive on our clover rich pastures all year round. We select each lamb as it becomes ready and transport it the short distance to the local abattoir, then take it back to the farm shop where it matures on the bone for a full 9 days or more depending on the season. All cuts of lamb are available from our farm shop so if you do not see what you are looking for, do not worry, simply give us a call and we’ll cut it just as you like it.

We have organic mutton available from October to March. This meat is extremely rich in flavour and is ideal for Irish Stews, casseroles & curries. The mutton is treated similarly to the lamb and matured on the bone until we are sure it will be succulent & tender for your tasting pleasure.
