At Churchtown Farm we ensure the finest quality every time by personally managing every stage of the beef production process ourselves.
John is responsible for managing the beef suckler herd composed of Aberdeen Angus, Beef Shorthorns & South Devons. The calves are suckled with their mother’s milk until they are at least eight months old and then feed on our clover rich pastures with a little of our home grown organic oats supplementing their diet in the winter months. John selects each animal when finished and they are transported as quietly as possible to the local abbatoir.
Dale, then, collects the meat and takes it to our on-farm butchery where it matures a full 24 days on the bone. When the meat is ready it is then prepared for retail sale either for the farm shop, our local farmers market or for our meat delivery service. We offer a full range or organic beef cuts as you can see below.
